Italian Research Day 2025: Innovation and AI at the Heart of Europe

On Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, the Embassy of Italy in Berlin hosted the eighth edition of the National Day of Italian Research Worldwide, an annual initiative that celebrated the achievements and global impact of Italian scientists, institutions, and companies. The event began at 18:00 (doors opened at 17:30) at the Embassy on Tiergartenstr. 22, 10785 Berlin.
This year’s theme centered around one of the most dynamic and transformative fields of our time: Artificial Intelligence and its industrial applications. The event brought together prominent voices from academia, research, and industry to explore the frontiers of AI innovation and its ethical, technological, and societal implications.
Following a welcome address by H.E. Fabrizio Bucci, Ambassador of Italy to Germany, the evening featured keynote talks and a panel discussion offering a multifaceted view on the opportunities and challenges of AI in real-world scenarios.

The initiative was especially aimed at members of the Italian and German scientific communities, as well as innovators, entrepreneurs, students, and science enthusiasts. SIGN (the Network of Italian Scientists in Germany) was represented by several of its board members, reinforcing the strong research ties between the two countries.
