Sara Buson in Pernumia, Italy, is a distinguished astrophysicist specializing in high-energy phenomena and multi-messenger astrophysics. She earned her degree and Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Padua. In 2015, Buson was awarded a NASA postdoctoral fellowship, leading her to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, where she contributed to significant discoveries, including identifying a source of high-energy cosmic neutrinos. In August 2018, she joined the Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg as a Junior Professor in High-Energy Astrophysics. Her research focuses on active galactic nuclei, blazar variability, and multi-messenger follow-up transients. In 2020, Buson received the prestigious ERC Starting Grant to advance her studies in blazar astrophysics.
