Sara Buson in Pernumia, Italy, is a distinguished astrophysicist specializing in high-energy phenomena and multi-messenger astrophysics. She earned her degree and Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Padua. In 2015, Buson was awarded a NASA postdoctoral fellowship, leading her to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, where she contributed to significant discoveries, including identifying a source of high-energy cosmic neutrinos. In August 2018, she joined the Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg as a Junior Professor in High-Energy Astrophysics. Her research focuses on active galactic nuclei, blazar variability, and multi-messenger follow-up transients. In 2020, Buson received the prestigious ERC Starting Grant to advance her studies in blazar astrophysics. She continues to lead research efforts at both the University of Würzburg and the DESY research center in Zeuthen, Germany.
