Riccardo Bassoli is an Assistant Professor at the Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks at Technische Universität Dresden, where he leads the Quantum Communication Networks Research Group. He is also a member of the Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-loop (CeTI) Cluster of Excellence in Dresden. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. Professor Bassoli earned his Ph.D. from the University of Surrey in 2016, focusing on network coding for efficient vertical handovers in mobile networks. Before joining TU Dresden in 2022, Professor Bassoli worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Trento, Italy. His research interests lie in the application of quantum communication, computing, and sensing technologies in 6G networks, as well as in-network quantum computing and hybrid quantum-high-performance computing. He has published numerous research articles and is a Senior Member of IEEE. Outside of academia, Professor Bassoli enjoys sailing, skiing, and reading.
