Dr. Ralf Michael Christoph is a research associate at TU Dresden and a lecturer in French at the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau. His work is in Romance linguistics, with research interests in manuscript studies, editorial philology, diachronic linguistics, language contact, multilingualism, and varieties of language. He completed his doctorate in Romance linguistics (Spanish & Portuguese) at TU Dresden in 2024 and is preparing a habilitation in the same field with focus on French and Italian language contact. His recent work includes research on Occitan language preservation, Lusophone language contact in Saxony, usage and attitudes of speakers of Réunion Creole and student's language skills at the Universitätsschule Dresden.
