Dr. Maria Basso is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Inorganic and Materials Chemistry, University of Cologne, hosted by Prof. Sanjay Mathur through a 2025 Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship. Her research focuses on solution-based oxide thin films, pulsed laser annealing for nanostructuring and crystallization, and applications in smart windows, gas sensing, and condensation heat exchange. She received the 2025 Eni Award Young Researcher of the Year and the 2024 R. Reisfeld Fellowship for Women in Sol-Gel Science and Technology.
