Giulia Torcolacci is a telecommunications engineer and early-career researcher in wireless communications, currently based in Munich as a Research Scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Communications and Navigation (Oberpfaffenhofen). She received her M.Sc. (summa cum laude) and Ph.D. in Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technologies Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2022 and 2026, respectively. Her research focuses on wireless communications theory and system modeling, with emphasis on smart radio environments for 6G networks, near-field MIMO systems, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, and joint communication, localization, and sensing for cooperative multi-agent systems. She has co-authored multiple articles in top-tier IEEE journals and flagship conferences, and was recognized with the IEEE Communications Society Exemplary Reviewer Award in 2023 and the University of Bologna Graduation Merit Award in 2022. She is a Member of IEEE and EURASIP.
